Chicago based bassist/composer and bandleader, Matt Ulery, has developed an instantly recognizable sound. Known for his sweeping lyricism, unconventional phrase structures, expressionistic emotionalism, Ulery is here found with a trio playing classic jazz standards. The mood is relaxed and, frankly, irresistible. Supported by the wonderful work of pianist Rob Clearfield and drummer Jon Deitmyer, the trio explores these classics creating one of the most inviting sounds you’ll ever hear. The piano, recorded with a special custom tube stereo mic, just sings. Not to be missed.
