Paul Bedal Solo Piano, July 2020 – Chicago, Illinois

Paul Bedal is a pianist and composer based in Chicago who earned his Bachelor of Music in studio music and jazz performance at the University of Miami and his MFA in Film Composition from Columbia College Chicago. In this performance we find him playing solo piano, focused on classic, gorgeous tunes such as Someone To Watch Over Me, In A New York State Of Mind, Memories Of You, etc.  Paul extracts the beauty and depth of each song with a tempered, sophisticated and personal style which is easy to listen to, but which is at the same time engaging, moving and thoughtful. Recorded using only two AKG 451 EB microphones and the legendary EMT 140 stereo plate reverb straight to a two-track MCI JH110c Mara tape recorder, the result is gorgeous sound; intimate, yet open, worthy of the artistry displayed by Paul.  Engineering by Anthony Gravino of High Cross Sound.

To order an analog tape copy (direct off the master ($250.00) or a production copy ($150.00) of this performance, please contact jonathanhorwich@me.com for details. Note, a direct digital copy of the tape master may be available as well.
